2600 Chiptuner :)

2600 Chiptuner :)

Greets all. I hope i'm doing this in the right place, but I figured here was as good as anywhere else to introduce myself. My name is Queue, I make music under the alias BitPusher2600.

My homesite is at
http://www.BitPusher2600.net

My only instruments are the Atari 2600, Synthcart, as well as Stella using Loopcart, and Audacity for some layering and mixing. The only thing in this world i'm more fond of than my Atari '26 is my beautiful daughter. I was stunned when I came across Paul Slocum's carts, because despite having heard various chiptuners before, the idea hadn't occurred to me that music could be or is being made on the 2600. I don't profess to be great, or even good, but I love my console and am going to try to apply some of my style to it :)

Take care all!

Some great sounds. Which program/editor do you use? I'm a Atari midi man, but I like chipsounds. Just never got used to trackers. :)

I can't quite pick up trackers either. BASIC was a bit too much for my head :(
Embarrassing perhaps, but i'm not afraid to admit that.

That being said, I don't use a tracker at all, or MIDI. I use a pair of 2600's with Synthcart, sometimes I sample things I make with Loopcart in the Stella emulator, and do my final sequencing, layering, mixing or whatever (I don't know the studio terminology) in Audacity, and there you have it.

If I make a tune that remotely sounds like a good tune, i'm happy with it. I'm not a hardcore or serious chiptuner, being fairly new to producing tunes from the ground up and all, I'm just kind of having fun with it :)

Thanks for checkin' me out.

That's some funky-ass grittiness BitPusher! I've got your link up on AMN's link page now too.
